Cal Ripken Jr., also known as the Iron Man, played shortstop and third base for the Orioles from 1981-2001. He holds the record for consecutive games played in (2,632). Ripken appeared in 19 all-star games, won 2 gold glove awards and 8 silver slugger awards. He also won the 1982 AL rookie of the year and was the AL MVP in 1983 and 1991. During his career he hit .276, collected 3,184 hits and blasted 431 homeruns.
